Research for this volume, which took 20 years, included extensive interviews and the investigation of original documents, obituaries, and grave markers. This is a perfect book for me because one of the paintings in the book is by my Great Great Grandmother, Ellen B. Farr. I was very excited to have a copy of my own.
Excellent resource for the study of women artists. I have used the book as a springboard for my blog and discovered the names of a multitude of female artists of whom I am unfamiliar.
The book is pretty diverse in its listings, e.g., geographically, so American art collectors may find something unique to them.
