Manages to leach all the interest and excitement from the subject matter. Voice over narration (in a monotone that I guarantee will put any kid to sleep in 10 minutes), no interviews or anyone speaking throughout the video. Dull, blurry photography and stills. Almost any documentary on Egypt is better than this and available on Amazon, always excepting the "Aliens built the Pyramid!" crazies Amazon is so fond of.i like this book.
This book claims to have "Essential Travel Tips - all you need to know". We were very disappointed to find that it is poorly written, on cheap paper with blurry black & white photos. The writing style is simplistic, as if written by an 8th grader. It's not useful because it only lists very expensive hotels and restaurants....and only 10 of each. It's interesting that the author's name is never listed. I returned the book because it was over-priced. I purchased the Lonely Planet's "Egypt" for 70 cents LESS and it was packed with travel information, tips, maps, history. The comparison is night and day.
Totally useless, this “book†is written in bad English and reads like a elementary school PowerPoint presentation. Anybody with an internet connection could google their way into creating the lists that this book consists of in a matter of minutes. There is no author name or publisher to find out who is trying to scam you out of $20.
This series is the best I have ever seen about ancient Egypt... They really get into the tombs and the meaning of the hieroglyphs. And they start at the beginning of history. I thought I had seen every program on ancient Egypt. I was wrong.
I read this book as a kid which began my long lasting adoration for everything Egyptian. I'm enchanted to have it back and added to my gathering. What a delight! I got this book quickly and can profoundly suggest the vender.
