About the Author
Elwyn Hartley Edwards was one of the most respected equestrian authors of the twentieth century. He edited Riding magazine for 18 years and wrote more than 30 books on horses and horsemanship. In addition to his equestrian knowledge he was also an expert on saddlery. In 1993 the British Horse Society gave him its Award of Merit. Edwards passed away in 2007 at the age of 80.

Bought this book for my 4 year old girl that's obsessed with horses and this book is awesome! It is a high quality hardback that has just about every horse imaginable..
This was a Christmas present for my daughter because she loves learning about different breeds of horses. We have been slowly going through the book from beginning to end together. We finally got to the end of the book and noticed several pages are torn. I didn't think to go page by page to make sure the book didn't have any torn pages when I received it....I purchased this new book for $36.00 only to receive it damaged. Be sure to go page by page so you don't end up with a wonderful book with torn pages.Otherwise, we love this book! It contains so much wonderful information on many many different types of breeds.

This book is a MUST HAVE for any horse liver. It covers all the breeds of horses, all the horse terms, and all the tack information. It's perfect for any level of rider, or even someone that doesn't but just lives horses. The pictures are great too. Great coffee table book, or a gift. Totally recommend this!
Gifted my daughter horseback lessons and this. I’m a novice. Knowing nothing of horses, this book has tons of interesting facts and details that might be difficult for us to come across otherwise. From breeds, to equipment. Very well done and good illustrations.
